Deep-Dive into SyncMusic Engineering

How we achieved sub-millisecond multi-speaker phase synchronization over standard consumer Wi-Fi and Mobile Hotspots without dedicated hardware.

Clock Synchronization Engine

Sub-Millisecond Cristian’s NTP Algorithm

Standard operating system clocks drift between 10ms and 200ms across different smartphone brands. SyncMusic employs a tailored implementation of Cristian's Network Time Protocol (NTP) algorithm.

  • Calculates round-trip delay: θ = [(T2 - T1) + (T3 - T4)] / 2
  • Filters outlier packet jitter using standard deviation windowing
  • Continuous 500ms heartbeat clock alignment across all connected guests

Zero Cloud Dependency

100% Local Peer-to-Peer Mesh Architecture

SyncMusic does not stream audio through internet cloud servers. Instead, it spins up a local lightweight socket server directly on the host smartphone. Audio packets travel directly over local Wi-Fi or Mobile Hotspot with zero internet data consumption.

Hardware Latency Compensation

Micro-Tune ±50ms Bluetooth DAC Latency

When you connect a phone to an external Bluetooth speaker (such as JBL, Bose, Sony, or Marshall), the speaker's internal DSP and DAC introduce a hardware delay between 15ms and 50ms.

SyncMusic provides a dedicated micro-tuner on every connected client. By sliding the offset slider in 1ms increments, you can physically align the sound waves from all speakers to fuse into an acoustic wave of resonance.
